Dr. Carolyn Ostrander, board-certified in family
medicine, enjoys the wide variety of
care she can provide – from kids to women’s
health to the elderly. In her practice, she
treats people of all ages and is interested
in developing long-term relationships with
patients and their families.

“I’m passionate about caring for people,
their families and their communities,” she
said. Her special interests include women’s
health, end-of life and palliative care and
behavioral health.

Growing up on a tree farm in rural northeast
Ohio, she feels at home serving the health
care needs of the Colby/Abbotsford area. I like the rural environment, the continuity and the relationships.”

She follows the “less is more” philosophy of health care.

“I see myself as the family member with the medical degree. I partner with patients to help them navigate the complex health care world and design a plan that suits their bodies, their families and their lives,” she said.

Her interest in family medicine began while attending medical school at Case Western University in Cleveland, Ohio. She furthered that interest during a residency in rural family medicine at Ohio State University in Bellefontaine.

In her spare time, she enjoys living in rural Marshfield. “I’m an animal lover,” she said. “I’m always acquiring new pets.” Her husband is an electrician. She has two stepdaughters, Rayna and Navaya.
