2 stretches to save your posture at work
Posted: February 11, 2015
Sitting at a desk all day can be a pain in the neck -- and not only because of the smooth jazz pouring from your neighbor's cubicle. Long hours in a chair takes a toll on our posture, making it important to stretch regularly. While numerous stretches are effective and available, it's easiest to keep things simple. Tom Merchant, a physical therapist at Marshfield Clinic, always recommends the chin tuck and shoulder blade pinch, which help with neck and back posture, respectively.
Hold each stretch for 10-15 seconds and repeat every 30-60 minutes, Merchant said.
Download this easy-to-follow guide that explains both stretches.
