Working at a nursing home as a hospitality aide nudged Amy Fellenz, D.N.P., down the medical path. Now, Amy works in urology as a nurse practitioner seeing patients for voiding dysfunction, prostate and bladder issues, kidney stones, and more.
"While working in a nursing home, I formed valued relationships with patients and staff. This encouraged me to further pursue my medical career," Fellenz said.
"I gained interest specifically in urology as I watched family members struggle with polycystic kidney disease and bladder cancer. I realized this is where I'd like to focus my practice."
Fellenz has a nurse practitioner degree in geriatrics and enjoys working with the older population. "Regardless of age, my goal is to improve a person's day-to-day life," she said.
Fellenz received her Doctor of Nursing Practice in 2019 from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire in Eau Claire Wisconsin.
She is married and the couple has three boys. She enjoys being outside with her family; camping, hiking, swimming, and skiing.
