Bradley Schauer's interest in health care developed as he was growing up on a dairy farm in southeastern Minnesota. A couple of unfortunate accidents provided opportunity to experience the emergency room first hand. Those experiences, along with his mother's rheumatoid arthritis diagnosis, spurred his interest in health care.

"I wanted to be part of helping others understand their illness or injury, and help them recover," he said. He learned about the physician assistant profession during his undergraduate program, decided it fit his needs and pursued it as a career.

"I really like the variety of cases I see, and meeting new people," he said. Bradley sees a mixture of cases in any given day, ranging from child wellness checks to senior citizens with chronic illnesses. He also can do minor procedures in office.

Bradley earned his master's degree in physician assistant studies at the University of Nebraska in Omaha. He is board certified as a physician assistant.

Schauer worked in Lincoln, Nebraska, for seven years before he and his wife, Marla, and two boys relocated to Wisconsin to be closer to family. In their free time, they enjoy the great outdoors, including canoeing, hiking, cross country and downhill skiing, traveling and mountain biking.
