Christopher Rall, MD

Dr. Christopher Rall has had advanced training in hepatology, involving diseases of the liver, and Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography (ERCP), an advanced procedure using an endoscope to view and treat problems in the bile and pancreatic ducts.

“I am proud of my education and what it has permitted me to offer my patients,” he said. Dr. Rall spent an additional year in medical school as a Howard Hughes Medical Scholar at the National Institutes of Health, which exposed him to “Nobelquality scientists and physicians,” thereby offering a different perspective on the practice of medicine.

“Other colleagues took differing educational paths to Marshfield, which broadens and strengthens our department. We can complement each other’s practice because our size allows for diversity of subspecialist interest,” he said. He also appreciates living in a smaller community that allows him to spend more time with his family rather than commuting hours in rush hour.

Dr. Rall earned his medical degree at Medical College of Virginia, Richmond. He completed an internship and residency in internal medicine, and a fellowship in gastroenterology, at Harvard University Medical School-Massachusetts General Hospital.

He and his wife, Sarah, director of pharmacy operations for Marshfield Medical Center, have four children.
