Dr. Daniel Jurczyk grew up in small town Wisconsin, and saw firsthand the need rural communities have for medical providers.

“I also saw a dire need for improved communication of science to the general public and wanted to be a liaison. Medicine was a perfect fit because it allows me to engage with the community, help others in need and communicate scientific principles," he said.

As a psychiatrist, Dr. Jurczyk sees patients with a wide variety of diagnoses including depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, post-traumatic stress disorder, treatment-resistant depression, transcranial magnetic stimulation referrals and adjustment disorder.

Listening, open communication and providing education are pillars of Dr. Jurczyk's approach to patient care.

“I emphasize developing a treatment plan with the patient that best addresses their needs. My ultimate goal is improvement in their symptoms so they can get back to pursuing the things that bring them joy in life," he said.

Dr. Jurczyk earned his bachelor of science in Microbiology from University of Wisconsin-Madison. He received his medical degree from University of Wisconsin-Madison-School of Medicine and Public Health and completed a psychiatry residency at University of Wisconsin-Hospitals and Clinics.

In his free time, Dr. Jurczyk enjoys biking, running, cross country skiing, reading, board games and spending time with family and friends.
