Elizabeth Chacko, MD

​Dr. Elizabeth Chacko wanted to be a doctor since age 10. Growing up, she was encouraged by her uncle, who was a cardiologist.

“I used to be fascinated seeing him come home wearing a stethoscope," she said. “I knew I wanted to be able to help people."

Dr. Chacko completed her medical degree and internship at Jubilee Mission Medical College and Research Institute in Thrissur, Kerala, India. She completed her pediatric residency with Marshfield Clinic Health System.

She sees patients for well-child visits and acute care needs and helps manage chronic or ongoing medical conditions.

She is particularly passionate about newborn care and mental health care.

She knew from medical school that pediatrics was a good fit for her.

“Kids are such a fun-loving group," she said. “I work to develop a good rapport with children to understand them and their needs better."

“As pediatricians, we play a pivotal role in kid's lives. We have the ability to touch children's lives and be with them when they really need support," she said.

In her practice, she wants to involve children in decision-making and engage them in the conversation.

“It helps them to understand what's going on and what they can expect," she said. “I also want to help make the experience fun for them or worthwhile however I can."

In her spare time, Dr. Chacko enjoys dancing, cooking, traveling and spending time with her husband and dog. ​
