Dr. Frederick Hernaez was drawn to medicine after watching both of his parents as doctors. Not only was he interested in the science aspect of medicine, but he enjoys the ability to truly make a difference for people.
“The thing that always drew me to medicine was that caring aspect, especially for other people," Dr. Hernaez said. “I was impressed by those small things you can do to help someone else out."
As an internal medicine-pediatrics provider, Dr. Hernaez can care for patients from birth through their lifetime. His care philosophy is about getting to know his patients and building that connection with them to keep their health on track.
“I want to meet people where they're at," he said. “I try to find what works for each person and find a good balance from what I can do from the medical side but also what my patient can do in their everyday life to help themselves out."
Dr. Hernaez has a strong emphasis on preventive care, and designing a care plan to meet his patient's needs.
“I want to make sure you don't end up in the hospital," he said. “I will partner with you to keep you on the right path when it comes to your health."
Outside of work, Dr. Hernaez enjoys playing video games and watching movies. He also enjoys playing basketball and football and tries to complete a half marathon every year.
