Janis Cekan, family nurse practitioner, specializes in health promotion and treating acute and chronic conditions for people of all ages.
Janis Cekan is no stranger to patient care and working with families. She started her career as a Certified Nursing Assistant in a nursing home. Her love for working with the residents and being part of their care team inspired her to advance her career. In February 2020, Janis received her Master of Science in Nursing – Family Nurse Practitioner degree.
After having worked in several healthcare areas, including critical care and labor and delivery, she knew family medicine and primary care was where she wanted to be. She enjoys seeing a variety of patients and knowing she'll help people through all phases of life and with many of their needs as they age.
She wants to be there for her patients and help get them to where they need to be. “I feel that one of the most important elements in providing care is being nonjudgmental and compassionate," she said.
Cekan – a Wisconsin native – loves spending time outside gardening, camping, fishing and traveling. She currently lives in Eau Claire with her daughter.
