Certified Nurse Midwife Katie Jelinek knew at an early age that she wanted to go into the medical field. She found her passion in life while helping women bring children into the world as a labor and delivery nurse.
As a midwife, Katie cares for women during pregnancy and beyond. She sees patients for birth control, preconception care, annual well women exams, prenatal care and postpartum care.
“Caring for women throughout their lifespan takes a team effort," Katie said. “Marshfield Clinic has a wonderful collaborative practice with OB-GYN's, nurse practitioners, midwives, nurses and clinic staf."
Katie's care philosophy is that patients should always be at the center of their own care.
“I want my patients to be informed and active participants in their care," she said.
Katie and her husband, Aaron, who is a nurse practitioner, have three sons. Outside of work, she enjoys reading, camping, traveling and attending her son's sporting events.
