Kehan Zhao, MD

​Dr. Kehan Zhao is a board-certified neurologist with specialized expertise in the diagnosis and treatment of seizure disorders. She also provides comprehensive care for a wide range of general neurological conditions, including headaches, strokes, and disorders affecting memory, movement, and sleep.

Her journey into medicine was inspired by the principles of individualized care and patient advocacy. Driven by a deep fascination with the brain, Dr. Zhao is committed to improving the lives of individuals affected by neurological diseases.

She earned her medical degree from Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine in Shanghai, China. She completed her neurology residency at State University of New York, Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, New York. She then completed a Clinical Neurophysiology Fellowship with a focus in Adult EEG/epilepsy at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center/Harvard Medical School in Boston, Massachusetts.

“I listen closely to understand each patient's unique experience. From there, I develop a personalized treatment plan and lead the team in its execution," she explained.

Dr. Zhao is passionate about creating meaningful change through patient-centered care. She values collaboration with her patients and upholds evidence-based clinical precision in every appointment.

Her dedication has earned her several honors including the Resident Medical Student Teaching Award, the AES Fellows Award, and an invitation to the J. Kiffin Penry Neurostimulation for Epilepsy Program.

Outside of work, Dr. Zhao enjoys spending quality time with her family, capturing life's moments through photography and exploring the outdoors on hiking adventures.
