Marcus Sepnafski, MD

Marcus Sepnafski, M.D., is an internal medicine physician who provides medical care and treatment to hospitalized patients. He sees patients with a broad range of ailments, most commonly coronary artery disease, congestive heart failure, diabetes, obstructive lung disease and infections such as urinary tract infections and pneumonia. Although challenging, Dr. Sepnafski is grateful for the opportunity to help others.

“I enjoy the day-to-day interaction with patients and their families and helping people when they are most vulnerable, possibly having one of the worst moments of their life," said Dr. Sepnafski.

Dr. Sepnafski acknowledges that a person's physical status plays a large role in their overall well-being, but also pays close attention to social determinants of health.

“Whether that be limitations in transportation, family support, economic hardship, or other social issues, approaching health care through this lens can help empower patients to take control of their own medical care," Dr. Sepnafski said.

Dr. Sepnafski was born and raised in the Wausau area. He went to medical school at American University of the Caribbean School of Medicine in St. Maarten, where he ranked first in his class. He completed an internal medicine residency through Wayne State University at Detroit Medical Center in Detroit, Michigan.

Dr. Sepnafski and his wife have a dog named Stella, who he says is “basically our child." He enjoys being active and spending time outdoors, especially when it comes to fishing and playing golf.
