After 20 years in the U.S. Army National Guard as a medic and a few years teaching high school, Michael Conard became a physician assistant in 1991. He always had an interest in medicine, and found his niche as a physician assistant. As a Green Bay native, Michael is proud to serve patients in a rural area.

“There isn't one particular thing that I enjoy most in my practice, but I really enjoy being with people and practicing rural medicine," he said.

In Neillsville, Michael focuses on treating adult patients. He enjoys getting to know his patients and caring for a variety of conditions. Michael has expertise in emergency medicine, family medicine and specialized training in occupational health.

Michael also serves as a pre-operational specialist for Marshfield Medical Center-Neillsville. He will work with other primary care providers to prepare patients for surgery. After surgery, he will transition patients to their primary care provider or continue care if needed.

He earned a Bachelor of Science from the University of Wisconsin, and a Master in Physician Assistant Studies from the University of Nebraska.

Outside of work, Michael is active in his community. He is a member of the local Lions Club and American Legion. He also has been a state and national Physician Assistant leader, and was past president of the Wisconsin Academy of Physician Assistants. In addition, Michael was Wisconsin Physician Assistant of the Year in 2003.
