Originally from Nigeria, Olivia Nwaedozie, M.D., grew up where there was not proper health care for common illnesses. This was a reminder of how important health care can be for a person. She knew she wanted to make a difference in a rural medicine.

As a family medicine physician, Dr. Nwaedozie cares for patients of all ages, focusing on regular check-ups and preventive care.

“One of the many things I appreciate about family medicine is the ability to experience different aspects and age ranges in medicine; from newborn to geriatric medicine, and everything else in between," she said.

In her practice, Dr. Nwaedozie has a special interest in chronic diseases and conditions including hypercholesterolemia, COPD/asthma, diabetes, essential hypertension, kidney diseases, heart diseases and more.

“I think Marshfield Clinic is the best place to get such rewarding experience," she said.

Dr. Nwaedozie appreciates the long relationships she can build with her patients.

“I think the most satisfactory part about family medicine building relationships with patients and seeing their health improve," she said.

Dr. Nwaedozie's husband also is a provider in cardiology. They have a daughter who takes up their free time.

“My priority outside of medicine is making time to spend with her," she said.
