A physician assistant in orthopedic surgery
Patrick Earll, a board-certified physician assistant in Orthopedics, assists with surgery and helps treat arthrities in the knees and hips.
"In surgery, I’m a second set of hands. In the clinic, I help with follow-up, making sure the patient is doing well." Patrick most often helps his brother, Dr. Mark Earll, M.D., treat patients with arthritis in the knees and hips. Besides joint replacements, he is also responsible for taking call which requires working with acutely injured patients who have sustained a variety of orthopedic injuries.
"I answer a lot of questions that our patients have," he says. "I am in a position where I get to spend a lot of time with the patients, have a chance to get to know them and go over the details that will help them understand what to expect during their recovery. It’s a rewarding specialty because it really helps patients. I like doing joint replacements because they help relieve people’s pain and hopefully help them regain the function they lost."
Patrick received his physician assistant degree at the University of Health Sciences – Chicago Medical School.
