Dr. Sheetal Aatrai chose to pursue Internal Medicine to be able to connect with a variety of patients. Being raised in India, she always knew medicine was a well-respected career, and gave her the opportunity to heal people.
“Patients rely on us," Dr. Aatrai said. “In Primary Care, we are able to give a diagnosis, treatment and stay connected with patients through their life."
As an internal medicine physician, Dr. Aatrai cares for adult patients with complex conditions like hypertension and diabetes, as well as offers preventative care, routine wellness visits, medication management and more.
Her focus as a physician is to make sure her patients feel heard.
“My main thing is to be there to listen," she said. “I will take the time to listen to my patient's concerns because I want their care plan to be a shared decision."
After a three-year residency at Marshfield Medical Center in Marshfield, she is proud to continue her career with Marshfield Clinic Health System.
Outside of her practice, Dr. Aatrai enjoys cooking Indian food and traveling.
