Marshfield Children's Hospital
We know there's nothing more important than the health and happiness of your child
When your child needs higher-level care, your provider can refer your child to Marshfield Children's Hospital. We're central and northern Wisconsin's only dedicated pediatric hospital and one of only four in Wisconsin. We're committed to your child's needs and will be with your family every step of the way.
Our hospital features a Level I pediatric intensive care unit (PICU), neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) and Level II pediatric trauma care center.
Expert care, kid-friendly spaces
We have been providing pediatric care for more than 100 years. Our 24-bed pediatrics unit is designed with our patients in mind. Our thoughtfully designed themed patient rooms bring our Midwest communities to life while providing a healing atmosphere for your child. Stroll down Main Street to see the town clock at the nurses' station, follow bunny tracks leading to designated play areas and families and visitors can take a break at Partner's Café by the fireplace.
Our board-certified Child Life and Expressive Therapies team works with doctors, nurses and you to help make your child's medical experience easier by preparing them for their treatment or illness to reduce fear, anxiety and pain.
State-of-the-art rehabilitation facilities
Marshfield Children's Hospital is one of the only trauma centers to offer an inpatient pediatric rehabilitation program. Our mission is to help children and teens regain function and independence after a debilitating injury or illness so that they are able to return home, to school and the communities in which they live.
The Marshfield Children's Hospital pediatric unit and therapy spaces include:
- Independence square: A community-designed environment where your child can practice what they've learned in therapy and apply it in a community setting.
- Snoezelen room: A safe environment where your child enjoys subtle stimulation of primary senses. The Snoezelen room has a banana swing, bubble tube, changing LED lights, fiber optic lights and relaxation music.
- Physical and occupational therapy gyms: A comprehensive treatment and technology space for your child's rehabilitation.
- Schooling and tutoring needs: A tutor through the Marshfield School District who coordinates lessons with your local school and current medical abilities.
Marshfield Children’s Hospital pediatric inpatient rehabilitation program is a Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities, or CARF, accredited program serving children and teens ages two through 18 in north central Wisconsin.
