Frequently asked questions

Do I really need a pre-travel medical evaluation?

If you’re traveling to regions where infectious diseases are more common or medical resources are limited, a tailored evaluation helps you prevent illness and meet entry or recommendation requirements (e.g., malaria risk review, vaccines like typhoid or yellow fever, and prescriptions).

When should I book?

Aim for 4–6 weeks before departure to allow vaccines to take effect and to complete any multidose series. If you’re leaving sooner, call us—we’ll prioritize what offers the most protection now.

Where can I get a yellow fever vaccine?

Yellow fever vaccinations are provided only at dedicated travel medicine clinics in Marshfield and Weston. Your travel medicine provider will confirm your needs and book you at the appropriate site.

Can I meet virtually

Yes. We offer virtual travel medicine appointments—ideal for itinerary reviews, prescriptions, and counseling. Call  (715) 387-5033 or  (715) 847-3371 to schedule.

Which vaccines or medications might be recommended?

Based on your destination and activities, your plan may include typhoid and yellow fever vaccines, malaria prophylaxis, and traveler’s diarrhea prevention/treatment strategies. Your clinician will personalize recommendations for age, medical history, and required timing.

Is travel medicine right for kids, seniors, and solo travelers?

Absolutely. We serve all ages and tailor guidance to family needs, solo itineraries, and older travelers’ health considerations, including chronic conditions and mobility.
