After experiencing caring providers in her life not only for herself, but also for family members, Dr. Al-Marie Grace Logroño knew she wanted to pursue medicine.

“I have encountered doctors who are so compassionate and they check on you not only as a patient but as a person, and they check on your family members,” Dr. Logroño said. “It was hard on my mom after my father died from a stroke. Growing up, I thought I want to be like those doctors who care for patients holistically. That is what intrigued me to get into medicine.”

As a board-certified internal medicine provider, Dr. Logroño continues that compassionate care. She has the opportunity to treat complex conditions as well as every day illnesses, which she enjoys.

Most of all, she appreciates building long-term relationships with her patients.

“You are a patient’s partner in improving their health,” she said. “By building a relationship with the patient, you get to diagnose and educate the patient on their health.”

Dr. Logroño chose to move her practice to Wisconsin to be near family. Marshfield Clinic Health System was the best fit because the System’s patient-centered values align perfectly with her values. “Compassionate care is the utmost importance to me,” she said.

Dr. Logroño is there to answer patients’ questions to provide a positive experience during a visit. She wants to be the go-to person for her patients in their time of need.

She earned her medical degree from University of the East Ramon Magsaysay Memorial Medical Center, Quezon City in Philippines with post-graduate training from University of the Philippines – Philippine General Hospital (UP-PGH), Manila. Dr. Logroño completed her residency in Internal Medicine from McLaren Flint/Michigan State University.

In her spare time, Dr. Logroño spends time with her family and friends. She enjoys reading non-fiction books, running and hiking. She also is trained in martial arts.
