For Dr. Anderson Bauer, he knew he wanted to be a cancer physician since his mother was diagnosed with breast cancer when he was 12 years old.

“I'm a child of two doctors and was always interested in medicine and talked about it a lot at the dinner table," Dr. Bauer said. “My mother was diagnosed with breast cancer as a teen, but helped me realize people beat cancer. We are on this quest and curing cancer is a generational question, how can we get there? Applying and advancing research is going to get us closer to a cure and to do better is the challenge before us."

As a radiation oncologist, Dr. Bauer treats patients with all kinds of cancers including, brain, breast, cervical, esophagus, gastrointestinal, hematologic, lung, pediatric, prostate, skin, stomach and uterus malignancies.

“The experiences I find most satisfying are treating patients as individual people," he said. “I appreciate how patients are unique and that all cancers do not act the same. I want my patients to understand their treatment and to have their questions answered."

Dr. Bauer is a Wisconsin native, who received his medical degree from the Medical College of Wisconsin in 2007. He also completed his internship in internal medicine and residency in radiation oncology at the Medical College of Wisconsin.

Dr. Bauer is married with three children. He enjoys spending time with his family, playing basketball, skiing, running, traveling and writing.
