A specialist in pediatric gastroenterology
Dr. Daryl Fish decided to pursue pediatric gastroenterology during his internship. "I trained with doctors who could see the ‘whole picture’ in diagnosing and treating a wide range of disorders, with a healthy child as the end result."
Dr. Fish diagnoses and provides care for children and adolescents with digestive system, liver or nutritional problems such as abdominal pain, colorectal disorders, gastritis, hepatitis and pancreatitis. He also treats feeding problems, swallowing difficulties and other intestinal problems.
"A medical condition shouldn’t define who a child is," he said. "It is a privilege to address the concerns of children and families and meet their needs." He also provides outreach care at the Clinic’s Wausau and Chippewa centers.
Dr. Fish joined Marshfield Clinic in 2005. He earned his medical degree in osteopathic medicine at Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine & Surgery, Missouri. He completed an internship at Genesys Regional Medical Center, Grand Blanc, Michigan, and his residency in pediatrics at Marshfield Clinic/ Ministry Saint Joseph’s Hospital. His fellowship in pediatric gastroenterology was completed at Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin, Milwaukee. Taking a special interest in understanding disease associations and patterns, Dr. Fish earned his master of public health degree from Loma Linda University School of Public Health, California. He is board certified in pediatrics and pediatric gastroenterology.
Dr. Fish and his wife, Julie, have three children. He enjoys spending time with his family and traveling.
