Nicholas Strang, PA-C

A physician assistant in orthopedic surgery

Nicholas Strang is a physician assistant in orthopedics. He is involved in all aspects of patient care including examinations and assisting in surgery

A career in orthopedic surgery was a natural choice for Strang, a hands-on person who enjoys working with tools.

"Orthopedic surgery was my most enjoyable rotation in physician assistant school," he said. "I like the variety of working on shoulders, hips and knees and the profound results patients see."

Before and after surgery, Strang lets his patients do the talking so he can get as much information as possible.

"Patients know what’s going on better than anybody," he said. "A big part of recovery is feeling comfortable communicating and knowing I’m listening to how they’re doing."

Strang earned his bachelor’s degree from Robert Morris University in Pittsburgh, worked as an emergency medical technician, then earned his master’s degree in physician assistant studies from Salus University in Elkins Park, Pennsylvania. He joined Marshfield Clinic in November 2015.
