Dr. Ross Groeschl, fellowship-trained podiatrist, treats a wide range of conditions, including Achilles tendon disorders, arthritis, ankle fractures, ankle instability, arthroscopy, bunion correction, Charcot neuroarthropathy (nerve damage often associated with diabetes), diabetic foot reconstruction, flatfoot reconstruction, foot and ankle trauma, hammertoes, heel pain/plantar fasciitis, high arches (cavus feet), limb salvage, neuromas (growths or tumors), sports medicine, stress fractures, tendon injuries or conditions.

Previous injuries and recovery have helped Dr. Groeschl understand the patient’s experience. “Recovering from my own previous foot and ankle injuries have given me a better perspective of what my patients are going through,” he said. “My goal is to help them get through their recovery and get back to full health so they can return to what they enjoy.”

Creating a treatment plan in collaboration with the patient is important to Dr. Groeschl. “I understand how disruptive injuries can be to your daily life. I am there to provide my expertise, hear what is going on with the patient and come up with a good game plan that fits with their life.”

Treatment options vary depending on the specific injury or condition, ranging from conservative approaches to surgical intervention. “The most enjoyable part of my practice is hearing we were able to get to the root of the problem and now patients are pain-free,” Dr. Groeschl said.

Dr. Groeschl completed a foot and ankle fellowship at Hinsdale Orthopaedics (IBJI) in Joliet, Illinois. He completed his residency at Grant Medical Center Foot and Ankle Surgery in Columbus, Ohio. Dr. Groeschl earned his doctor of podiatric medicine degree at Midwestern University-College of Podiatric Medicine and Surgery in Glendale, Arizona.
