Sharon Besterfeldt, LPC

Sharon Besterfeldt knew from the age of 10 that she wanted to be in the behavioral health field. Prior to joining Marshfield Clinic Health System, she worked to provide a variety of mental health services to children and families, couples, and individuals who had been incarcerated.

She primarily sees patients suffering from depression and anxiety. She also works with patients who have bipolar disorder, and sees a mix of children and adults.

Sharon said she works to be as genuine as possible with her patients, and sometimes that even involves using humor.

"I really strive to make sure my patients feel comfortable with not only me but with the therapeutic process," she said.

Her passion is helping people live their best life and feel comfortable with who they are.

Sharon received her undergraduate degree from University of Minnesota and earned her Master of Science in counseling from University of Wisconsin-Stout.

When she's not working, Sharon enjoys landscaping and home improvement projects as well as art projects. She enjoys spending time with her family, which includes playing with their two dogs.

Star ratings are based on a 0-100 point scale converted to 1-5 stars. Providers must have a minimum of 30 patient ratings to receive a formal rating.
