Suzanne Sherer is a fellowship-trained, certified physician assistant, specializing in general surgery. She helps patients who have wounds or health conditions that require surgery.
Sherer was drawn to this specialty after seeing the benefits of surgical intervention.
“I knew what I wanted to do when I saw how quickly patients can feel better after a surgery," Sherer said. “It's been my passion to help patients better understand their condition, whether it's explaining verbally or showing them physically."
Sherer uses a holistic approach in working with her patients, and emphasizes the importance of clear communication.
“I consider all aspects with a patient, including where they're at physically, mentally and emotionally," Sherer said.
After earning her bachelor's degree at Northern Michigan University in Marquette, Sherer earned her Master of Physician Assistant Studies degree at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Additionally, she completed a surgical fellowship at Duke University Hospital in Durham, North Carolina.
In her spare time, Sherer enjoys exploring the outdoors, traveling, water-skiing, hunting, fishing and spending time with family and her two dogs.
