  • After surgery: We manage your recovery, including pain control solutions such as regional anesthesia or nerve block catheters, and provide instructions for athome care if applicable.

Types of anesthesia & pain control

  • General anesthesia (as appropriate to your procedure).
  • Regional anesthesia to numb a specific area and reduce postoperative pain.
  • Targeted pain control: Injections, nerve blocks, and nerve sheath catheters; often paired with small portable infusion pumps for continuous relief for up to several days.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is anesthesia safe?

Our specialty-trained team monitors you continuously to keep you comfortable and safe before, during, and after your procedure.

What is regional anesthesia?

Regional anesthesia numbs a specific area to reduce pain after surgery and can lower the need for oral pain medications.

Do you offer pediatric and obstetric anesthesia?

Yes—pediatric anesthesiology and obstetrical analgesia/anesthesia are part of our core services.

What’s a nerve block catheter and pump?

A small catheter connected to a portable pump delivers local anesthetic for continuous pain relief—typically for several days after surgery.

Are there risks with nerve blocks?

Serious risks are rare but can include bleeding, infection, nerve damage, seizures, dizziness, and low blood pressure; your team will review these with you.

Will I still need oral pain meds?

You may need additional medication even with a nerve block; we’ll provide prescriptions and clear directions before you go home.
