Skip the hospital stay when it’s safe to do so. Home Recovery Care lets eligible patients receive treatment and rehabilitation at home under the guidance of Marshfield Clinic physicians and nurses.

Who is Home Recovery Care For?

If your condition can be safely treated outside the hospital, you may qualify for Home Recovery Care. Examples include:

• Medical care (≈30 days): pneumonia, congestive heart failure, urinary tract infections; supports inpatient and shorter observation episodes when appropriate.
• Rehabilitation care (≈60 days): infusions, wound care, physical/occupational therapy.

Your Recovery Care Coordinator will work with you and your doctor to confirm eligibility and the right program.

How It Works

1. Go home instead of being admitted (when medically appropriate).

2. We set you up with any needed equipment — including a tablet — at no additional cost (returned at the end of care).

3. Meet your Recovery Care Coordinator, your single point of contact who:

• Coordinates with your doctor(s)
• Monitors daily vitals
• Answers medication questions 
• Assists with follow-up appointments
• Provides health education

4. Your nurse team cares for you at home — typically 3–5 days for medical care (longer if needed) and 2–3 weeks for rehab care.

5. Virtual visits: see and talk to your doctor from home on the tablet.
