Christopher Bizjak, PT

Christopher Bizjak knows exactly how important his work is as a physical therapist because he’s had ACL reconstruction to rebuild the damaged ligament in his knee. “I can empathize with people who are going through this process because I’ve been there,” says Chris, who anticipates having his other knee done someday.

As his daughter’s soccer coach and ex-player himself, Chris loves the game and doesn’t want to sit on the sidelines. Physical therapy keeps him in the game. “You can get back to where you want to be,” he says. “I don’t plan on stopping either.”

Naturally, orthopedic and sports physical therapy is Chris’ specialty. Rehabbing injuries to knees, ankles and shoulders is his focus. When patients visit him at Marshfield Clinic Stettin Center, they can expect professional treatment. “I make it a fun environment and do it in a caring manner.”

Not only has a passion for sports influenced Chris’ career path, but his mother was a physical therapist too. “I have it in my genes,” he says. With 18 years of experience at Marshfield Clinic and more recently the Stettin Center, Chris is proud to be part of a winning team. “Our clinic offers wonderful one-on-one care. We get to know our patients and become friends with them over time.”

In addition to playing and coaching soccer, Chris also officiates high school and college games. He lives in Wausau with his wife and four daughters. They enjoy winters downhill skiing and the fall when they can harvest apples from their own apple orchard.

Chris earned his degree in physical therapy in 1993 from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
